The Brisbane Heat approached Sunny Advertising with a critical mission for the BBL 2025 season: drive ticket sales through an effective digital strategy. The team needed to increase stadium attendance in a competitive entertainment landscape, with specific targets for each game in the season. The challenge required precision targeting, continuous optimisation, and a data-driven approach to maximise return on ad spend while working within budget constraints.
Sunny Advertising developed a media strategy centred on data-driven audience segmentation and digital targeting. Our approach was distinctive because it continuously evolved throughout the 62-day campaign period, with over 350 tactical optimisations that responded to real-time performance data.
We identified key behavioural and interest-based audience segments that showed the highest propensity to purchase tickets. Rather than following category conventions of broad awareness campaigns, we implemented a highly targeted approach focused on conversion optimisation and measurable revenue attribution.
The campaign delivered exceptional results across all KPIs:
ad-attributed revenue
Home ticket sales vs. all other teams
Our media plan leveraged multiple digital platforms with an emphasis on platforms with the strongest conversion tracking capabilities. The campaign featured dynamic creative optimisation based on upcoming games and remaining ticket inventory. We coordinated media touchpoints to create urgency around key matches while maintaining a consistent presence throughout the season
